We believe that reading is so much more than words on a page. It is a doorway to ideas, imagination, conversation and confidence.
EDEN Reads brings children together in a warm, welcoming space where they can read, think deeply, share their ideas and create something of their own.
We want to make reading feel exciting, ideas easy to talk about and the words on the page relatable - helping children connect what they read with their own experiences, feelings and the world around them.
Giving every child the space to be curious, to contribute and, most importantly, to find their voice.

Renaissance Pizzeria - A table for ideas.
In partnership with award-winning pizzaiolo Marco Fuso, we have created a warm, welcoming space where children can gather around the table, form friendships, enjoy a delicious EDEN x Renaissance Pizzeria treat and then settle into an hour of reading, discussion and creativity.
We begin with a poem.
Once everyone is settled, we turn our attention to a carefully selected poem.
We read together, listen closely and begin to discover what the poet has placed within the words.
What catches your eye?
What picture comes to mind?
How does a particular word make you feel?
What do you think the poet is trying to tell us?
There is room for curiosity, different interpretations and plenty of “What makes you think that?”
Let's talk about it.
Now the conversation comes alive.
In small groups of four, children have the space to share what they think, listen to one another and build on each other's ideas.
One thought leads to another.
A different perspective makes us pause.
A new idea makes us see the words differently.
Then we come back together around the table, sharing what we've discovered and hearing how differently the very same words can speak to each of us.
Every idea has a place at the table.
From reading to creating.
Now we take what we've discovered and make something of our own.
The words, images and ideas from the poem become our inspiration.
We choose key words
We play with ideas.
We see where they take us.
And then one child at a time, each voice contributes a line.
A word becomes an idea. An idea becomes a sentence.
A sentence becomes a line And line by line, a brand new poem begins to take shape.
Every child contributes. Every voice matters.
And together, they create something that belongs to them all.

We strive for EDEN Reads to be a place where children can enjoy words without pressure - a space to be curious, to contribute, to be heard and to discover the joy of creating something of their own.
We want to nurture the foundations of confident communication and strong writing:
comprehension · vocabulary · imagination · critical thinking · listening · discussion · creativity · confidence
Most of all, we want children to leave feeling:
“I understood it.”
“I had something to say.”
“I helped create something.”
And, perhaps most importantly:
“I wonder what we're going to read next week?”
Looking a little further ahead.
We are thinking beyond the next poem. We are thinking about the child your child is becoming.
At EDEN Reads, we are building the skills that will serve children well as they grow - reading through to confidence.
We also want to help families feel informed, prepared and confident about the journey ahead - from 10+ and 11+ to independent, state and grammar schools, scholarships and bursaries.
Our EDEN Readers will have opportunities to hear first-hand from senior school representatives about what schools value in the children they hope to welcome.
Through intimate EDEN Talks and school connections, we will create opportunities for children and parents to ask questions, hear directly from schools and gain insight into the pathways ahead.
